Homemade Banana Bread with ButtermilkDirections:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mashed ripe banana (2-3 bananas)
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons soft butter
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 deg F.
Mash up bananas in a cup.
In a medium bowl, cream soft butter and brown sugar.
Add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla extract and the mashed up bananas.
Combine with flour, salt and baking soda. Mix well.
Pour mixture in a greased loaf pan.
Bake in oven for 1 hour.
To tell if done, a toothpick inserted in center should come out clean.
Pop out from loaf pan and cool in a rack for a few minutes.
Serve and enjoy.
