I found this recipe from a Youtube video. But instead of making brownie from scratch, I used a Betty Crocker brownie mix. The cheesecake filling, though, was from the video. This brownie cheesecake recipe was/is delish.
Direction:
1. Preheat oven according to brownie box mix instruction. I like using Betty Crocker brownies and the settings seem to be 350 deg F and 325 deg F.
2. Make the brownie batter following the box instructions. Set aside.
3. Make the cheesecake filling (a.k.a. cream cheese filling) by adding softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract and egg yolk in a medium-size mixing bowl. Mix them until just smooth. If using an electric mixer, do not whip up the batter.
4. Since this cheesecake brownie recipe is for making bars, I'm using a 9x13 inch baking pan. Prep the pan by lining it with parchment paper.
5. Pour the brownie batter into the baking pan. Spread it out and level the top by tapping the pan against the top of the table or kitchen counter (see video below).
6. Scoop out a spoonful of the cheesecake batter and drop it on top of the brownie batter. Repeat steps while spreading out the scoops (see video below) until all cheesecake batter is used up.
8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the brownie cheesecake is done. Done means a toothpick comes out clean when you poke into the middle of the brownie.
9. Remove from oven and allow to cool to room temperature. Remove from pan and cut it up into desired squares.
10. Serve. Enjoy!

How to swirl cheesecake brownies?
7. Using a knife or something similar like the handle end of a spoon or fork, mix around cheesecake batter over top of brownie to make a marble effect (see video). Be creative.8.
