Homemade Banana Bread with Buttermilk Recipe

Easy Banana Bread. Yogurt can be substituted for buttermilk. But the rest of the ingredients are simple. You'll just need flour, baking soda, salt, ripe bananas, brown sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla extract.

Homemade Banana Bread with Buttermilk

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mashed ripe banana (2-3 bananas)
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons soft butter
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 deg F.

Mash up bananas in a cup.

In a medium bowl, cream soft butter and brown sugar.

Add eggs, buttermilk, vanilla extract and the mashed up bananas.

Combine with flour, salt and baking soda. Mix well.

Pour mixture in a greased loaf pan.

Bake in oven for 1 hour.

To tell if done, a toothpick inserted in center should come out clean.

Pop out from loaf pan and cool in a rack for a few minutes.

Serve and enjoy.
